Finally I can post this - iMPackin

Ok, I know it has been a bit of a distance between posts but I have moved into the super secret squirrel market with my designs. I cannot show them until after they are released to the public, as part of my contract. So I have added a group shot of the avatars available with iMPackin, an iPhone app where you can shoot stuff. I was kept out of the loop as to what we were making but I think it looks pretty cool. You can check it on iTunes or at there site iMPackin.com, try it for free or buy the PRO version and tell me what you think. I have also attached a tech demo from there youtube channel. So if you like it shoot me an email and tell me all about it.

GoalPost.tv

I just finished a design for GoalPost.tv that will be used for many football fans websites. The brief was a sexy but not pornography soccer girl holding a whiteboard that can be used to display different items. I didn't have to code the items thank god. After a lengthy discussion about ethics with my fellow designers I did this one for a very small sum but I do the same work across the board and I think she turned out mighty fine.

NeonCon

I just finished a design for NeonCon, but sadly my design was not chosen. I have however been featured in the top ten and shown over at their site. Check it out, if I could make it to Vegas I would.

The design was for a robot that was some what associated to the convention, I whipped up a quick on that I thought looked really nice. I just wasn't able to finish the details before the contest finished so I think that is why I wasn't picked.

For Now

Now I am caught up on my old designs, there is an idea for those who have read them of what things are to come. I have been working on a few projects that are still in progress, once they are done I will post them here with a little bit of a description of how they came to be.

For this post I ask you out there to send me your questions about my works and I will try to answer them. Hopefully creating a process to stay connected and up to date on more than just my designs.

So E-Mail Me with the subject 'SRD-Questions' and I will answer them next week.

Other Sources of Work

I love working privately with clients as much as possible but the truth is that I don't always have a steady stream of work, so I started going to 99 Designs as a way to make more money than what I was at Digital Point. The truth is that now I only go by Digital Point to look for mascot work, which is what I really like to do now after working on the Webfective project. I go there looking for mascot work because I know I have a better chance at making a quick buck because most of the people that enter the mascot contests there cannot draw at all. I have always found a Graphic Designer that can't draw as a paradox that never made sense.

So now that I am entering contests at 99 designs, I entered a contest for a Poor Pharmacist website. and the design I came up with looks pretty nice in my opinion, but sadly I was not chosen.

Webfective

The latest project I have finished is working for Webfective, they are a web design company that does some of the most amazing work. Plus working with Bill Jordan was a great pleasure, he was professional and at times hilariously polite. Not realizing that he was paying for my services and I was going to do what I could to accomplish his thoughts in a timely manner.

The character we created was 'Joe' and he got Joe in four poses and one detail copy that I created later. My first detail copy in my opinion looked awful, but I changed my style and created something that I am proud of.

That is the way I work, I create something I am proud of and if it doesn't look up to par with the money someone is spending I do it again and again until it looks perfect.

These images of 'Joe' are copyrighted under Webfective. I always give my clients the option to have exclusive copyrights for the works I do for them, that way I cannot use the likeness for any future projects.

The Real Work Starts

From now on I will be taking a more direct writing style with the blog and less of a reflective style. That is because I am now caught up to current events and I cannot write past tense anymore.

I have been working on a website for my father's non-profit organization The Lost Boys Pirates. They have a back story that I wanted to show in the light of the theme of the site. So I designed this piece after looking up some inspiration from Disney's Peter Pan. It is 100% vector and available for download from the site.
